Prior to joining Moore Advent, Chong Chee was with one of the Big Four accounting firms. He has more than 25 years of experience in tax and audit, covering a broad spectrum of Malaysian taxation matters including tax audit and investigation, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence reviews, tax advisory and compliance, real property planning, real property gains tax, stamp duty advisory and exemptions, as well as GST implementation and advisory.
Chong Chee has established strong working relationships with government authorities through his involvement in tax audit and investigation engagements. With his extensive experience and pragmatic approach, he provides innovative solutions to enhance clients’ tax positions by reviewing their business operations, processes and workflows, as well as their financial and tax profiles.
He is the co-author of Veerinder on Taxation (5th and 6th Editions), one of Malaysia’s leading taxation textbooks, which offers in-depth coverage of tax legislation, administrative practices and the Inland Revenue Board’s guidelines.
Chong Chee has served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of companies listed on Bursa Malaysia. He was also a Council Member of the CTIM and the Technical Reviewer of the Annual Budget Commentary jointly published by professional bodies.
