Extension of Time for Circulation and Lodgement of Financial Statements and Annual General Meeting Announced by Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia ("SSM")

Following the implementation of Full Movement Control Order ("Total lockdown") and in support of the Government's initiatives to ease the economic pressures faced by the corporate community, SSM has issued the Practice Directive ("PD") No. 8/2021 dated 1 June 2021 to clarify the special procedures for application of Extension of Time ("EOT") for Lodgement of Financial Statements and Annual General Meeting (AGM) for affected companies having financial year end AFTER 31 October 2020 to 31 January 2021 as follows:

1. To grant an EOT for a period of ninety (90) days to circulate financial statements and reports in accordance with the powers under PN 3/2018;
2. To grant an EOT for a period of ninety (90) days to hold an AGM in accordance with the powers under section 340(4) of CA 2016;
3. To grant an EOT for a period of ninety (90) days to lodge financial statements in accordance with the powers under section 259(2) of CA 2016; and 2017
4. To waive the application fee of RM100 for the above applications in accordance with the powers under Regulation 8(5) of CR 2017.

The affected companies are required to submit the EOT Application by 31^st July 2021 and address it to eotmco3@ssm.com.my using the template in Appendix (A) of the PD 8/2021.
